Carmen Meléndez reported that 259 Community Militia Units are active in Caracas

This Saturday, from Plaza Bolívar in Caracas, the mayor, Carmen Meléndez, the sectoral vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladímir Padrino López and M/G. Orlando Ramón Romero Bolívar, general commander of the Bolivarian Militia, participated in the special military exercises.

During the event, Meléndez thanked and highlighted the work done for the defense of the nation. “I want to congratulate the entire military high command and the Superior General Staff for this great work every day and the training of our people.”

“We have 259 Community Militia Units (ICU) and we are in five places, where we are concentrating the 22 parishes, we have 1035 Popular Integral Defense Bases, 2653 Integral Popular Units (UPI) and today they are receiving induction in command, control and communications.”

In this regard, Mayor Meléndez assured that in Caracas they are prepared with everything for defense, or any contingency that may arise.
