The immersive exhibition “Our America. Creative drive. Footprints, Looks and Identities”, will be inaugurated at the Rómulo Gallegos Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CELARG) , with an exhibition that pays homage to the rich cultural diversity and identity that occurs in the great territory liberated in the Battle of Ayacucho.
“Our America. Pulsión Creadora” will be open to the public, free of charge, from Tuesday to Friday, starting this January 30th, from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon.
Through the works of masters such as Oswaldo Guayasamín, with his impressive “Huacayñan” series; Rufino Tamayo, with his characteristic color, and Cornelis Zitman (Netherlands) with “The Caribbean”, this exhibition is a synergy of our identity and recent history.
The exhibition also pays homage to great figures of Venezuelan art such as Armando Reverón, César Rengifo and Jesús Soto, whose works are a reference for understanding 20th century Latin American art.
Thus, eighteen artists from different countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, among others, present works that range from figuration to abstraction and that include conceptual art.
The exhibition in the main room includes works from the vaults of CELARG, the Museum of Fine Arts, Maccar and GAN, attached to the National Museums Foundation.
The immersive room is enriched by an original musical composition by Yaheber Palma and Francisco Malavé, mixed by Palma, which immerses spectators in a multisensory atmosphere.
This exhibition, curated by Mercedes Longobardi, focuses on three thematic axes related to social criticism, traditions and identity. The creative direction and post-production of this immersive experience was in charge of Nicolás Calzadilla and Ángel Mendoza; Oriana Molina was in charge of the general production with assistance from Camila Barreto. Bárbara Barrios and Sebastián Calzadilla, also in post-production and animation work. José Méndez and Humberto Medina were in charge of the editing, while Nelson Parra was in charge of the mapping.
