The Minister of People's Power for
Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, asserted that it is necessary for the international community to
condemn the decision of the United States Government to put a price on the head of the President of the Bolivarian Republic
of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
“We must condemn this type of attitude,
we cannot stand idly by, it is not possible for a government to
put a price on the head of any president or head of state in the world and
that happens with total impunity,” Gil said during a meeting with the
diplomatic corps accredited in the country, at the Antonio José de Sucre Yellow House in the city of Caracas.
He argued that this is a new aggression, without evidence,
without trial and using lies, invented fables that have put a price on a legitimate president by offering
a million-dollar reward of 50 million dollars.
“Once again, they are exceeding the extraterritorial justice of the
United States; it is very serious because it involves ignorance of international law,” he said.
Foreign Minister Gil stressed that President
Maduro is in Caracas, dispatching from the Miraflores Palace, meets with international
envoys, ambassadors, does business and signs a decree.
Gil was accompanied at the event by Deputy Ministers for Latin America, Rander Peña; Asia, Middle and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh; Multilateral Issues, Rubén Darío Molina; Africa, Yuri Pimentel; Europe and America by Camilla Andrea Corao and International Communication, Camilla Fabri.
