Chinese companies in Venezuela support relief efforts with machinery and donations

Cooperation between China and Venezuela is strengthened in difficult times

Chinese companies established in Venezuela have donated more than 120 tons of humanitarian aid to support relief efforts, following last week's devastating earthquakes.

According to reports from the Xinhua news agency replicated by Radio Nacional de Venezuela, the companies immediately mobilized with cranes, excavators, emergency electric generators and containers to support rescue and recovery operations.

As for donations, they include food, drinking water, basic necessities and protective equipment for areas affected by the earthquake.

For its part, the Chinese embassy in Venezuela reported that another 500 tons of supplies are in the process of being shipped to distribution points designated by local authorities or in the preparation phase.

The diplomatic representation also specified that the company China National Medicines & Health Products Import & Export Corporation donated 5.8 tons of medical supplies. This shipment is scheduled to arrive in Caracas on July 10.

The embassy indicated that the assistance was coordinated with Chinese companies based in Venezuela to contribute to response and recovery efforts after the disaster.
