In celebration of National Choral Singing Day this Tuesday, July 15 at 4:00pm, a choir meeting will be held at the National Theater of Caracas, an activity with free admission, promoted by the Mayor's Office of Caracas and its Secretary for Education, Culture, Sports and Recreation, among other participating entities.

The choirs that will make up the concert are the Orfeón Libertador, under the direction of Jaime García; Simon Bolivar National Choir, under the direction of Lourdes Sánchez; Audite Chamber Choir, under the direction of Rosángela Guzmán; the Orfeón Universitario de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, under the direction of Raúl López; and Madrigalista de Aragua, under the direction of Sergio García.

Every July 15th, the first presentation of the Orfeón Lamas is commemorated in 1930. This date was established to honor the trajectory of this group and recognize the work of choirs in the country and seeks to highlight the importance of choral music and recognize the work of choirs and choirs in the country.

The Orfeón Lamas, considered the first polyphonic choral group in Venezuela, was founded by Vicente Emilio Sojo and is recognized for its impact on Venezuelan music, which marks the beginning of the Nationalist School.
