Members of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), attached to the Higuerote Municipal Delegation, Miranda state, were able to clarify the femicide of 24-year-old Betzabe Díaz.

According to information issued by the director general of this police force, Douglas Rico, Ángel José Olivo González was arrested for this fact.

Rico explained that the investigations began after the complaint of Díaz's relatives, who reported her as missing, which led them to the discovery of the victim's dead body in a wooded area near her home.

“Through the investigations, it became known that Ángel Olivo, who was a friend and co-worker of the victim, accompanied her to her residence on the day of the events. Along the way, they had an argument after Betzabe refused to maintain a romantic relationship. Faced with the refusal, Olivo took an aggressive attitude, physically subdued her and strangled her to death,” said the Director.

He also added that to divert suspicion and evade justice, the perpetrator threw several of the victim's clothing in different places near the site of the event. Later, he fled the scene. In addition, he joined security agencies and family members in the search, seeking to be aware of any investigations that might involve him.

After learning the facts, the officers managed to arrest Ángel Olivo, on Bicentenario Avenue in the Higuerote parish, Brión municipality.
