The National Cinemateca Foundation will hold the conference “The Movie Poster” next Thursday, June 5, in the spaces of the Carlos Cruz-Diez Print and Design Museum (MEDI).

The activity that will start at 4:00pm will take place through the exhibition “Film Posters” to delve into the graphic evolution of the film poster in Venezuela, as well as its influences and transformations over time.

The presentation will be given by the artist Alejandro Calzadilla, who will guide a visual and analytical journey on the impact of the poster on the country's artistic and cultural identity. Through concrete examples, the talk will explore the connection between cinema and the graphic trends that have marked different generations.

This event is part of the special program with which the National Cinemateca Foundation celebrates its 59-year history, which promotes the appreciation of cinema from multiple perspectives. The conference will provide a space for reflection on the value of cinematographic design as an artistic and communicational expression.

The exhibition “Film Posters” brings together a selection of emblematic pieces that are part of national and international film promotion. The exhibition not only highlights the visual aspect, but also the importance of design in the construction of narratives and in the relationship between the spectator and the film work.
