Civil Protection rescues hikers lost in mangroves in Maracaibo

Civil Protection (PC) officials located six people alive, reported missing, in the mangrove area in the Capitan Chico Sector, in the Coquivacoa parish of Maracaibo in Zulia state.

On the morning of Easter Sunday, six adults, according to the Civil Protection report, went into the mangrove forests located in the northern part of the Zulian capital and no one knew after the hikers.

Authorities and rescue officials explained that the rescue occurred in mangroves located between Capitán Chico and Santa Rosa de Agua with the support of two larger community boats at the end of the day.

Those rescued were part of a group of hikers from the Maracaiba coast who were taking a recreational trip.
