The National Electoral Council (CNE) extended until next Tuesday, June 17, the deadline for submitting, modifying and replacing the nominations of candidates for mayors and councilors, ahead of the elections on July 27.

In a statement, the electoral body explained that this extension was made in response to requests submitted by the different organizations for political purposes participating in the Municipal Elections 2025.

The National Electoral Council, in response to the requests submitted by the various organizations for political purposes participating in the Municipal Elections 2025, makes it public that, in the exercise of the authority conferred on it by paragraph 1 of article 33 of the Organic Law of Electoral Power and, in particular, article 59 of the Organic Law on Electoral Processes, in permanent session today, it has decided to extend until Tuesday seventeen (17) of June the deadline for submitting, modifying and replacing applications.

With the extension granted, the National Electoral Council confirms its commitment to guarantee the right to suffrage and political participation of the Venezuelan people, as well as to give effect to the principles of transparency, equality, reliability, impartiality and efficiency of the electoral processes established in article 293 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
