The CNE reiterates its support for President Maduro and its commitment to the peace, independence and sovereignty of Venezuela.
Below is the full statement from the CNE:
The Electoral Power, the National Electoral Council, addresses national and international public opinion, with the purpose of categorically rejecting the insolent statements issued by the Attorney General of the United States of America lacking veracity and legality, against the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro Moros, Head of State and Government, Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, elected by the absolute will and sovereign of a Nation that decided to be irrevocably free and peace-loving.
This group of enemies of Venezuelans persists in their neocolonial practices, which reveals a wrong interventionism against Venezuela, with a clumsy maneuver to generate a systematic attack on the institutionality of Our Homeland, encouraging extremist groups that seek to subvert the constitutional order by attacking President Nicolás Maduro Moros.
The International Community is aware of the incalculable property damage caused to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by the North American government, thus affecting the human rights of the people, since the object of its actions is not only aimed at destabilization, but also at the appropriation of our resources with the complicity and silence of various international organizations.
Faced with the new threat of the U.S. empire, all Venezuelans have a duty to honor and defend the homeland, values, its symbols, its legitimately elected authorities, as well as the Constitutional Citizen President Nicolás Maduro Moros, to protect and protect the sovereignty, nationality, territorial integrity, self-determination and interests of the Nation, in accordance with the provisions of article 130 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Citizen, Head of State and Government, Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces on behalf of the Electoral Power, one of the five Powers of the Venezuelan Homeland, you feel that we support and support you in your struggle to guarantee the Peace, Independence and Sovereignty of the Land of Bolivar, and we strongly confirm our rejection of the claims of the Attorney General of the United States to try to involve you in irregular acts.
