This Friday, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, through his account on the social network X, demanded that the government of the United States (USA) not meddle in the internal affairs of his country, in response to the intervention of the North American National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz in the United Nations (UN)
“The security council does not protect our peace policy, it is sovereign, the security council, by a unilateral declaration of the state of Colombia, only protects the peace process with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), which we are complying with.
In the same message, the Colombian president added: “I respectfully request the U.S. government not to interfere in Colombia's internal politics.”
“The wrong position of the United States with regard to drug trafficking, human trafficking and now the peace process with the FARC, which seeks to change our position on the genocide in Gaza, is not accepted by our government,” he stressed
