In order to promote economic and tourist development, the first Communal Economic Zone was inaugurated in the historic center of La Pastora parish, in the Libertador municipality of Caracas, which offers a wide variety of tourist attractions, such as restored colonial houses, museums, cultural spaces and rich local cuisine.
Through municipal investment and the support of local entrepreneurs, new employment opportunities have been generated, the historical heritage has been revitalized and the social fabric of the community has been strengthened.
In this regard, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, on her Instagram account, said that this is a great victory for La Pastora and for all of Caracas.
“We are recovering our history and building a more prosperous future for our inhabitants,” he said.
For his part, the president of the Municipal Fund for the Support of Popular Power (FOMAPP), Jesús García, stressed that “the Communal Economic Zone is an example of how Popular Power can transform a community.”
He also assured that the special economic zone is the flagship project of FOMAPP that has rethought its policies, in the historical, political and economic context of the country, as well as the resurgence of the economy, through the strategies of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
He stressed that it seeks to encourage communal organization, economically, through tourism, through the care of heritage, culture and its traditions.
“La Pastora is one of the first parishes in Caracas, it has a lot of history in each of the walls of its houses, its walls and that story, because we are gradually bringing it up to the surface; to show it not only to its inhabitants, but also to tourists who want to know along the way,” he said.
García said that they will continue with investments in the Community Economic Zone, through the expansion of the tourist offer, the promotion of culture and the strengthening of citizen participation.
With the inauguration of this area, Caracas is taking an important step towards diversifying its economy and promoting sustainable tourism.
La Pastora is established as a first-rate tourist destination, so the entire population is invited to discover its rich history and vibrant culture.
