In response to the collapse of some land roads that keep the llanera region isolated from the center of the country, the airline CONVIASA has resumed air operations on the Apure-Maiquetía route, since Monday, August 4.
This was announced by the governor of the entity, Wilmer Rodríguez, who specified that flights are active on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and offer a 30% discount on tickets.
“These flights bring us a step forward both for tourism, the economy and the personal diligence of the people of Apurea. This is the Apure we want to build: connected and empowered. We even consider activating them daily to respond to the demand of our people,” he said.
After the heavy rains that affected land roads, citizens have highlighted the importance of resuming flights as a safe and efficient alternative.
In addition, the regional Government took steps with the Ministry of People's Power for Transport to evaluate the possibility of expanding the frequency of flights to every day of the week, in response to citizen requests.
