In the framework of Independence Day, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that “today, July 5, we proudly celebrate the day that Venezuela sealed its destiny as a free and sovereign nation.”
On his account on the social network Telegram, Rodríguez stated that “the signing of the Act of Independence in 1811 not only marked the beginning of our emancipation, but it ignited a flame of dignity that is still alive today, guiding our fight for justice, unity and self-determination.”
“That spirit of freedom beats stronger today in the Venezuelan people, in the defense of our sovereignty and in the construction of a future where the Homeland is, as Father Liberator dreamed, great and invincible,” he said.
In the message, the vice-president published a video, in which Commander Hugo Chávez points out that “we have regained independence thanks to the Bolivarian Civic-Military Revolution, which was created here, in those neighborhoods, neighborhoods, villages, camps.
“Now we have to fight hard to preserve independence. We are the spearhead with the People in the defense of our Independence,” said Commander Chávez.
