During a meeting with the nation's Diplomatic Corps and the Secretariat of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that few times in history has there been such a great threat to the Caribbean Sea as the one currently being experienced.

“In our history, we have not experienced this type of threat, where United States Navy warships have a presence in our Caribbean Sea,” Rodríguez said.

He recalled that with the Caribbean Sea there are warships with missiles with nuclear connotations, to mainly threaten Venezuela and its people. “Those who make the strategies in the United States thought that the Venezuelan people would surrender to the psychological threat and the physical threat posed by having warships aimed at our nation, but they only managed to unite us more,” he added.

“Those who think that this is an armed aggression on the part of the United States will only affect Venezuela and its people, they are mistaken, this action would also cause damage to the region and to the North American country itself,” he said.

He argued that these ships threaten the tranquility and peace of our Caribbean territory. “This is a war-free territory, we are one of the few continents where it can be said that there is no armed war,” he said.

In this regard, he insisted that governments in Latin America and the Caribbean have a responsibility to combat intolerance, hatred, as the seed of fascism and neo-Nazism, and called for reflection on those who act as Heads of State and Heads of Government who must bet on Peace.
