The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reaffirmed that the People of Venezuela are legitimately preparing for the defense of the Homeland against any situation of external threat such as the one currently experienced after the deployment of United States (US) warships in the Caribbean Sea.

During his participation in the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, he specified that the threat facing Venezuela is not new, recalling that the country has been the victim of an economic blockade, which has also affected the investments of European countries and Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Those who think that armed military guerrilla aggression against Venezuela will only harm the Venezuelan people and the Venezuelan government are going to make mistakes again, it will affect the entire country, perhaps for decades it will affect our region and you have no doubt that it will affect the United States and North America; it is a message that we have given to the people of the United States who do not want war they do not want war,” he said.

At the same time, he called on the collective regional conscience to join the rejection of the great farce that the United States has with the issue of the supposed fight against drug trafficking.

“It's a big lie, it has already fallen under its own weight, it only has one meaning and one objective, which is the reserves of oil, gas, gold, minerals and wealth that Venezuela has, which needs them for this new phase where the United States government declares war on the entire planet,” he said.

He reiterated the great strength of Venezuela, which is the conscience of the people who, in the face of threats, have united in rejection of US actions.

“There is a Venezuela that is compact in the defense of our country, prepared for defense and for guaranteeing territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence,” he said.
