The Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted this Wednesday the economic growth of Venezuela and Russia despite the blockade imposed by the United States (USA) and its allies.

“If the Russian economy has demonstrated anything, it is that it has a better economy since the blockade, because it must be said, the blockade allows countries, peoples, and productive sectors to find their own paths as we have found in the field, for example, of food supply, where Venezuela now produces its food,” he said during his speech at the Russia-Venezuela Business Council, held in Caracas.

In this regard, he stressed that “the Russian economy today has extraordinary growth and is also part of the economy of the BRICS countries, which already surpass the G7, which is a reason to say that we can, that if we can preserve our sovereignty, our self-determination, our independence, without subjecting ourselves to the blackmail of those who from Western governments intend to surrender popular sovereignty and surrender the process of self-determination of our countries”.

In the Venezuelan case, he highlighted the economic recovery process, “thanks to an economic program presented by President Nicolás Maduro in August 2018, which has allowed us to recover the growth path and that this year 2024 Venezuela will also close in a positive way.”

Rodríguez indicated that the business sector sees Venezuela as “a positive country, sees a future and hope for development and how we have been promoting productive sectors (...) how the country has been recovering its agro-industry, its industrial apparatus, how production has been recovering in a process of sustainability with its own efforts, guaranteeing national development.”
