Deltano people demand the return of President Nicolás Maduro

The original people of Delta Amacuro demanded from North American imperialism the return of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

“We met to ask that the will of the people be respected and that President Maduro be released,” said María del Valle Jiménez, while insisting that the mobilization reflects the unity of families in the delta.

For his part, José Gregorio Salazar, professor of the community, said that the voice of the communities cries out for justice and that the president must be in charge of the country. He added: “We will be there until their freedom is guaranteed.”

Ana Teresa González, a Warao craftswoman, stressed that indigenous communities are making a strong call for the release of the president. In his statements, he emphasized: “Our request is for the dignity and continuity of his leadership.”
