The incorporation of justices of the peace constitutes the Judiciary at the local level, as explained this Tuesday, February 11, by the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Liliana González, during her participation in the Al Aire program, which broadcasts Venezolana de Televisión.

He highlighted the importance of communes for the full implementation of the Plan of the 7 Transformations, developed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

“We can say that Justices of the Peace strengthen participatory and proactive democracy. Now we have the government in the commune, in the territory,” he said.

He added that “we have built the five powers in the territory, and now we are training the justices of the peace”, while stressing the need to “incorporate the justice system into the territory, and make justice accessible, less bureaucratic, eliminate corruption”.

González also explained that the Permanent Development Commission for the Communes of the AN required two years to develop a package of laws to transform communal regulations, which allowed the evolution of these territorial units.

He pointed out that any of the community leaders, in order to have funding, “have to be held accountable.” As an example, on December 30, 2024, the Law on the Reform of the Organic Law of the Communes came into force.

On the other hand, González assured that Communal Power is built on the basis of the proposals emanating from the Venezuelan People, in order to forge the construction of the communal State, “as the expression of this democratic, social State of law and justice, contemplated in our Magna Carta.”

He emphasized that in order to fully implement the Plan for the Homeland of the 7 Transformations and the communes, “all mayors, governors and all the institutions have to work on the basis of the construction of that plan, we are there hand in hand with the communes, organizing, working.”
