Diosdado Cabello: This Friday we seized 1,200 kilos of drugs

This Friday, the State Security Corps seized 1,200 kilos of drugs in a proceeding, said the sector's vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.

During his participation in the Congress Drug Use and Juvenile Delinquency: Justice with a Human Face, from the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), he explained that the seizure of this stash is linked to another one practiced in the past few days, when 800 kilos of drugs were found in the state of Lara. “That's going to hurt in their pockets because December is coming,” Cabello joked.

On the other hand, in the aforementioned space, he drew attention to the necessary connection of families, together with the State, in the fight against drug trafficking and consumption.

In this regard, he advocated that more severe penalties and without procedural benefits be applied to persons apprehended for being linked to the trafficking, in large quantities, of drugs. “Those who are imprisoned for trafficking 100 kilos of cocaine or marijuana should not have the right to redemption, because they are going to go out and continue to traffic drugs,” he said.
