Through the Center for the Development of Educational Quality of Zulia (Cdce-Zulia), a census was carried out of Colombian children and adolescents displaced by the armed conflict in the Catatumbo region, to integrate them into the Venezuelan education system as part of the humanitarian actions promoted by the Bolivarian Government.

As reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), most of the refugees are located in the border municipality of Jesús María Semprúm, Zulia state.

This action forms a humanitarian approach, which was designated by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to guarantee medical, food and housing care to families forced to flee violence in the North of Santander, among other areas bordering the Venezuelan nation.

The registered young people were incorporated into the Venezuelan education system, as reported by the director of Cdce-Zulia, Penélope Paz, stating that the attention began with the delivery of uniforms, supplies and school shoes, as well as teaching material to minors.

In addition, the National Government activated a humanitarian corridor with the points located in Casigua-El Cubo, Kilometer 16 and the Catatumbo Bridge. From these areas, the displaced are transferred to the El Cruce sector for medical care, with the assistance of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (Saime), among others, to be transferred to the Simón Bolívar Task Force, the main shelter activated in the Alexis Durán Football Stadium, in Casigua.
