The People of Ecuador are participating this Sunday, November 16, in a referendum that includes four questions, two of them of particular importance: establishing a Constituent Assembly to draft a new Constitution and once again allowing the installation of foreign military bases in national territory, with the United States as the main interested party, measures promoted by the extreme right wing Daniel Noboa.

At the time, the Citizens' Revolution, in actions led by the then president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, succeeded in getting the North American imperialist Eloy Alfaro Air Base, in Manta, to operate until 2009 and will culminate its presence in this nation.

The vote will take place with the country mired in the worst crisis of violence in its history, ranking at the top of Latin America in the homicide rate, projecting that it will close 2025 with about nine thousand equivalent to about 50 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants, in the midst of the false fight launched by Noboa against criminal gangs dedicated to drug trafficking, illegal mining and extortion, according to several international media.

More than 13.9 million Ecuadorians are called to the polls to answer the four questions: the two mentioned above and the other two questions in the referendum raise the reduction of the National Assembly (Parliament) from 151 to 73 representatives and the elimination of public funding for political parties.
