The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted this Thursday the strengthening of cooperative relations with the Russian Federation, through the High-Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN), which is holding its 18th edition in Caracas.
“The creation of this Intergovernmental Commission is very important in what it means to continue to nourish Russia-Venezuela relations, specifically already in the field of cooperation,” Rodríguez said during his speech at the meeting, at which new agreements were signed in the field of energy.
He explained that the fruits can be seen with the signing of important agreements between Russia and Venezuela. “13 subcommissions have been working tirelessly these days, this week in different areas that were addressed” that have an impact on the daily lives of Venezuelans, “on their economic development, on education, on culture,” he said.
Rodríguez highlighted that the 13 subcommissions addressed energy cooperation, in oil and gas, in strengthening cooperation in education, technology applied to oil and gas.
“The important advance in oil production and good news that in the coming weeks we are also going to have in the development of gas fields that Russia has in our country and as you know in the country, President Nicolás Maduro also has a very clear gas development policy to become gas exporters in a very short time for the first time,” he reiterated.
The vice-president emphasized commercial relations between the two countries, stressing “that transactions can be carried out in our national currencies, in the Venezuelan case it has also been a very clear instruction from President Nicolás Maduro on how to break the hegemony of the dollar, which is not a hegemony, it is a criminal dictatorship over the peoples of the world, because they have used their privileged position in the financial system that they completely control to attack peoples, to attack nations and to... to attack the economies of our countries,” he criticized.
