The exhibition
“Historical Ties between Cuba and Venezuela”, which opened at the Casa de Nuestra
América “José Martí”, located on the National Pantheon Boulevard, Caracas, will be
open until October 17 to offer national and
international visitors the opportunity to appreciate the works of wristbands from various regions of the country.
During the exhibition, Vice Consul Alexander
González emphasized the importance of cultural union. “Today we are more united
than ever, in order to strengthen our cultures in defense of the peace of the Latin American
Continent,” he said, pointing out that “fascism is
desperate and intends to resume the plan to steal our identity, which
is why it is important to ratify brotherhood.”
For his part, Jorge Berrueta Simancas stressed that
these activities defend the identity of peoples. “We find
wristbands, artists and sculptors who defend the identity of peoples
who, transcending the borders between Cuba and Venezuela, ratifies the
brotherhood between the two countries, based on the same ideological principles,” he explained.
Clairet Sucre, national coordinator of the Venezuelan Love Wrist
Movement, explained that the exhibition represents
an intangible heritage of humanity. ”
“Wristbands are a feeling of a
cultural history that dates back more than 200 years, which ratifies our identity and defines the
family, because rag dolls are a symbol of love between grandmothers, mothers and daughters,
” he said.
The exhibition has the permanent participation of 12 artisans to attend to visitors. In addition, 30 artisans representing the Venezuelan Love Doll Movement are also present.
