From José Leonardo Chirino de Coro Airport in Falcón ( Miranda municipality), commercial operations began with RUTACA's maiquetia flight to Maiquetía.
More than 130 passengers were mobilized on the Maiquetía - Coro y Coro - Maiquetía route, on the Boeing 737-300 YV3063 aircraft, which will be maintained every Monday for a cost of 79 dollars.
The governor of the entity, Víctor Clark; the president of the RUTACA airline, Carlos Silva, and the president of the Falcón State Airports Institute, Sergio Quintero, led the start of flights, after eight years of inactivity and with expectations that more destinations will be added.
“Thanks to the sustained work we carried out for a year, we achieved the adaptation of the facilities, runways and other technical aspects validated by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), thanks to the support of President Nicolás Maduro, today Coro becomes a city that opens up to the present and to the future with economic and tourist projection through air connections,” said the governor quoted by the regional press.
In the same way, he said that the goal is to position this air terminal as a connection point for the west of the country with a view to being an international showcase.
