Through the social network Instagram, the strategic operational commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported that military officials arrested the citizen, Julio César González, in Monagas for attempting to steal strategic material belonging to the state oil company, Petrleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).

He pointed out that as part of Operation Black Gold, overflights were carried out with a drone, which allowed three subjects to be seen inside the PDV-169 drill facilities, which caused a persecution by members of the FANB and members of the Territorial Defensive System, who completed the capture of González. The other two subjects remain on the run.

He indicated that this procedure was notified to the Public Ministry, due to the detainee's involvement in crimes defined in the Organic Law against Organized Crime, such as the financing of terrorism and sabotage of the Nation.

“We are guarantors of our sovereignty and territorial integrity throughout the Republic. The F ANB is deployed, providing security and custody to strategic facilities that provide well-being to the Venezuelan people. Personal interest in individual profit should not come before the benefit of the national community,” he said.
