The head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported that a Cessna 152 type aircraft was destroyed in the Rómulo Gallegos municipality of the state of Apure, after considering that it was being used for drug trafficking.

According to information published on the web portal of the State channel, Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Hernández Lárez indicated that the discovery of the plane was made on August 29 near a clandestine runway (identified as AP-06) in the south of the llanera entity.

The aircraft was covered with branches next to a camouflaged roof, so it was then proceeded to request information about it from air traffic and civil agencies; “since it was an aircraft not identified by the competent authorities, it was then considered “hostile” and presumed “that it was being used by violence-generating groups linked to the cross-border crime of drug trafficking, the transfer of irregular elements and weapons”; for which reason it was destroyed on the ground”, VTV reviewed.
