Fatalities from Cyclone Chido in Mozambique rose to 94

Mozambique's National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (INGD) reported that the number of deaths caused by Cyclone Chido rose to 94.

In this regard, the INGD specified that the natural phenomenon has affected 52 medical centers and 250 schools.

In addition, it destroyed 89 public buildings, 338 high-voltage towers and 2,700 kilometers of power lines, as well as 11 mobile telephone poles, destroyed 111,145 houses and partially affected 29,483 homes, according to a note from International Media.

The authorities indicated that the priority is to guarantee food to affected families and to expand shelters because more rainfall is expected.
