ANNOUNCEMENT
The Federation of Chambers and Companies of Venezuela (Fedeindustria) expresses its firm rejection of the measures taken by the Government of the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and its Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
We reject all forms of political criminalization against authorities legitimately constituted by the Venezuelan people. This decision constitutes an interventionist act that violates the principles of sovereignty, self-determination of peoples and respect for international law, established in the Charter of the United Nations. It also creates anxiety among the population, promotes a climate of political and social tension, unnecessarily increases country risk and increases spending on security, resources that should be oriented to social welfare and economic momentum.
The consequences of these types of measures directly affect the industrial, commercial and service sectors, compromising the employment and stability of thousands of Venezuelan families and aggravating the already complex situation that our economy is going through as a result of previous coercive actions.
Fedeindustria, as a trade union organization committed to the country's productive development, defends respect for international law and the peaceful resolution of disputes. We reiterate our call to the international community to privilege dialogue, respect and cooperation over confrontation, and we urge not to join practices that violate international law and jeopardize the peace and stability of States.
