This Sunday, a Jeju Air flight, which was going to complete an internal route in South Korea, had to return to the airport of origin after a failure in the landing gear. The incident is similar to the one involving another plane of the same model, which crashed on Saturday in Muan.

According to the Yonhap agency, flight 7C101 departed from Gimpo International Airport, which serves Seoul, bound for the city of Juju. Shortly after takeoff, the pilots informed the 161 passengers on board about the mechanical defect of the Boeing 737-800 and the return to Gimpo.

According to Yonhap, Jeju Air's fleet consists of 41 aircraft, of which 39 are of the Boeing 737-800 model, the same one that suffered the accident this Sunday. Allegedly, the recent catastrophe, in which 179 people died, was caused by a failure in the landing gear.
