Foreign Minister Yván Gil attends the inauguration of the President of Panama

On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, arrived in Panama this Sunday to attend the inauguration of José Raúl Mulino, elected as the new President of the Central American nation on May 5, after winning the victory with 34.23% of the votes.
Upon his arrival in Panama City, the Foreign Minister held a pleasant meeting with the heads of delegations present to participate in the Presidential Command Transmission Act.
This Monday, prior to the inauguration, the minister greeted President José Raúl Mulino, to whom he transmitted the message of congratulations and good wishes from President Maduro, “towards Latin American union, with a deep Bolivarian meaning.”
The protocol ceremony is scheduled at the Atlapa Convention Center, in the Panamanian capital, where Mulino will be sworn in for the period 2024-2029 and the presidential band will be imposed on him by the president of the National Assembly (Parliament), elected shortly before by the new deputies who start legislature this Monday.
The inauguration will also be attended by the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro de Zelaya, and the presidents of neighboring Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves.
Panama and Venezuela established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1904, called at that time “Friendly Relations”.
