Fuego Patrio of the XIX National Student Sports Games 2025 arrived in Nueva Esparta

The Patriotic Fire of the XIX National Student Sports Games 2025 arrived at Juan Griego Bay in Nueva Esparta where it was received by the governor of the state Marisel Velásquez de Millán, the mayor of the Marcano municipality, Yul Armas, the president of the Institute for Higher National Defense Studies (IASDEBNE) Carls Douglas Rodríguez, and the director of the Center for the Development of Educational Quality (CDCE), Rawuil Quijada.

In the Marcano municipality, Fuego Patrio was transferred to La Asunción where the governor handed the torch to the athlete Jessi Chacón, who began the journey to pass the flame progressively at each point to Valeria Ruiz (futsal), Diego Marín (wrestling), Aranza Luzardo (chess), Fabián Vásquez (karate), Yonaiker Noriega and Anthony Guerra Alfonzo (parathletics) and Dahna Arenas (Uprising) of Weights), reports the Ministry of Sport.

“I am proud to take this tour to accompany the passage of the Patriotic Fire through the central area of the state capital and to hand over the torch to the young athletes who will represent us in the last phase of these Games,” said Governor Plaza Bolívar de La Asunción, Governor Millán.

Nueva Esparta will attend the national phase of the XIX National Student Sports Games with a 247-member delegation including athletes, coaches, delegates and support staff in 17 disciplines.
