FUNDACITE and INIA trained Larenses in corn management and reproduction

The Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (FUNDACITE), together with the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA), held a Maize Management and Reproduction workshop to strengthen agricultural production in the state of Lara and preserve the local genetic heritage.
During the activity, more than 40 producers participated in the Francisco Torres Ochoa Educational Unit, located in the parish of San Miguel in the Jiménez municipality, and had the support of the Rio Turbio Socialist Commune, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT).
During the day, they addressed topics such as strengthening corn cultivation techniques, the production cycle, the selection and treatment of seeds, soil preparation, agronomic management of the crop, pollination processes, the control of pests, diseases and harvesting methods.
