Government of Bolivar kicked off celebrations with Carnival shout

Overflowing streets, calypso and dancing marked the Carnival Cry of El Callao, flooding the streets with a very busy troupe, which has more than a century of tradition and color.

The governor, Ángel Marcano, accompanied by the state's first female fighter, Yajaira Arocha de Marcano, as well as part of his cabinet, toured every stretch of the municipality, according to the regional press.

Marcano pointed out that in each of the 11 municipalities this Carnival cry will be replicated, “because the people ask for it, because Bolívar is calypso and calypso is in the Bolivarian DNA and we as a responsible government support the development of culture with all its guarantees.”

Upata, San Félix, Puerto Ordaz and Ciudad Bolívar will be the next stop of the biggest carnival festival in the south-east of the country.
