Government of Guayana Esequiba and SAIME issued identification certificates to hundreds of inhabitants of the Antonio Díaz municipality

The Government of the state of Guayana Esequiba, together with the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME), successfully completed the Indigenous Route in the Antonio Díaz municipality.

The information was released through a press release from the Government, in which it was detailed that this special day was aimed at serving more than a thousand inhabitants of the original communities.

“The route was deployed between September 16 and 21, attracting the attention of a total of 70 indigenous communities in the area. During the day, essential procedures were carried out for identification for the first time and renewal of the identity document,” said the Government.

The governor of the entity, Neil Villamizar, highlighted the culmination of the activity as a very important achievement for the identity of the region, “we have reached the communities of influence of our 24th state and managed to give identity to our indigenous brothers. We want to thank President Nicolás Maduro, the national director of SAIME, the government of Delta Amacuro and our mayor of the Antonio Díaz municipality, Javier Arenas. Really, this is a big step.”

For his part, the mayor of the Antonio Diaz municipality, Javier Arenas, highlighted the massive attendance at these days, which were held especially for the indigenous communities in the area.
