Government of Lara organized the first congress “Climate Change, Ecosocialism and the Commune”

Environmentalists and spokespersons from the Community Committees of the state of Lara participated in the first congress “Climate Change, Ecosocialism and the Lara Commune 2025”, a training and awareness-raising event that allowed theoretical socialization and the debate of experiences.

Under the motto: “Adding Green Hearts for the Protection of Mother Earth”, presentations were held by experts on: “Climate Change and Public Policies”, “Hydrographic Basins”, “National Parks and Strategies for Territorial Management” and on “ Community Ecology in Action for the Climate”.

In his words, the Director General of the Lara State Government Office, Luis Jonás Reyes Flores, highlighted the importance of the participation and integration of the environmental spokespersons of popular power with the objective of “preserving the planet as instructed by Hugo Chávez for all generations,” said a press release.

For her part, the president of the Lara State Institute of Ecosocialism (INECOLARA), Yenny Sánchez, commented that “the earth asks us for help and natural disasters are proof of this, as a result of the felling of trees, floods and garbage without proper management.”
