This Sunday, the Ministry of Popular Power for Transport activated technical equipment and specialized machinery on the Ramal 16 highway, at the height of the Campo Alegre sector, on the road to Santa Ana, San Cristóbal municipality, with the objective of dealing with the collapse caused by the overflow of the Torbes River, as a result of the intense rains recorded in the region.

Through information provided by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), traffic was completely interrupted in the affected section, prioritizing the safety of users. The removal and diagnostic work is ongoing by the assigned personnel, in coordination with State institutions.

The deployment was supported by the Táchira Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI), through Operation “Cacique Murachí”, whose mission involves the constant monitoring of vulnerable points in the state's 29 municipalities.

This strategy incorporates orientation, patrolling and monitoring tasks for emergencies associated with rainfall.

From the El Corozo and Campo Alegre sectors, the Commander of the ZODI, General Michell Valladares, reported on the integration of the military and police components with the communities, where preventive surveillance and citizen support were reinforced.

He also indicated that temporary detours are being evaluated along the Capacho highway, at defined times and under vehicle control
