The governor of the state of Anzoátegui, Luis Marcano, reported that the warehouse where 1,500 kilos of explosives were found, according to records, had not provided services to the oil industry for at least 8 years.
“When providing services to the oil industry, you are allowed to have a quantity of explosives in your warehouses, up to a maximum of 50 kg, because they are inputs that are used for some activities, such as when large pipes are clogged and explosives are used, but this is something that is not done every day, not often, but for situations that arise,” Marcano explained, during his participation in the radio program Sin Truco Ni Maña hosted by the deputy Tania Díaz.
In that sense, he asserted that nothing justifies having warehouses with so much explosive charge and even more so if they are not providing services. “Everything points out, as explained by the Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, that this is part of the plans of violence that sectors of the extreme right, protected by international groups, intend to generate against the country,” he said.
He highlighted that these warehouses are located very close to the main administrative headquarters of the Orinoco Oil Belt, which is the main oil reserve on the planet and just three or four kilometers from the Tigre 1 substation, which is the electrical substation through which all the electrical distribution that comes from the state of Bolívar to the rest of the country passes.
“If you shut down the electrical substation in the state of Anzoátegui, more than 70% of electricity distribution in the rest of the country is paralyzed,” he said.
