The governor of the state of Mérida, Arnaldo Sánchez, reported this Friday that the road that connects Timotes, in the Miranda municipality, with Valera, has already been restored, who recalled that this was the last access that was blocked from entering the state.

In this regard, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), it recalled that the first step that was re-established is the Vigía's access to the city of Mérida, while the second was access from Barinas.

“After 216 hours of these emergencies due to the rains, we can already say that here, we have access through the three roads that can be entered into the state of Mérida,” said Sánchez.

In the Andean region of Venezuela, the rains in recent days have caused the collapse of road routes, the loss of homes and the activation of multiple humanitarian operations. Various institutions and organizations are currently working to care for the victims.
