The governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, accompanied the families affected by the earthquakes that occurred on June 24 on a day of prayer, within the framework of the Venezuela Renace Plan.
From the Republic of El Salvador transitional camp, in the coastal entity, Terán stressed that “this renaissance is not only a reconstruction and social development of all the infrastructure that was affected by the seismic double, but the rebirth involves promoting a state of consciousness that allows us to be reborn from within, from the values of citizenship, from the approval of a new code of values, of principles in society that from the individual and the collective”.
In this regard, he highlighted the importance of comprehensive care in transitional camps, “which has to do with the psychosocial care of each of the families, but it also has to do with the ease of spiritual coverage.”
“That's why evangelical pastors, priests of the Catholic Church, of all religions come to be able to offer Sunday support, there are even three religious services during the week that come here and only allow people to alleviate pain, the stages of grief, which is very important. Sometimes what people just need is a hug, for them to listen to it,” he said.
