The Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My
Beloved Homeland invites Venezuelans to celebrate and enjoy this
month of June the Festive Cycle in honor of San Juan Bautista, a celebration with Afro-Venezuelan
roots that unites faith, drums and devotion.
“Let the drum sound, that San Juan
has everything and gives everything!” , the authorities of the Ministry of
Popular Power for Culture disseminated on their social networks, where the renowned
cultural promoter Benito Irady, a member of the socialist program, offered a
motivating message for this anniversary.
“There is a lot of mystery, because Saint John is
miraculous (...) the cult and devotion to Saint John the
Baptist is quite a wonderful world,” Irady said in a short documentary video.
Since June 1st, Venezuela has been buzzing with
the festive cycle in honor of San Juan Bautista. Dances, songs and the ringing of
drums announce the arrival of San Juan, whose spirit is reborn in every
community that honors him with passion and joy.
“Join this festival of tradition, identity and culture. How are you going to celebrate this year?” , announced by the Ministry for Culture.
