Addressing his American counterpart Donald Trump, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, invited him to carry out a “serious” investigation into the companies of the businessman and current ruler of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, whom he accused of transporting 70% of the cocaine produced in Colombia.

“I'm going to give you a fact, if you really want to do something; 70% of all the cocaine that is produced in Colombia and Ecuador comes in the boxes and ships of the shipping companies of the banana companies of Daniel Noboa, president of Ecuador,” the national president denounced.

He specified that this trafficking scheme was established by former Ecuadorian president Guillermo Lasso, who he called establishing a narco-state in Ecuador.

He also stressed that the drug problem must be addressed as a public health problem in the United States, where he specified that, according to reports from agencies in this North American country, more than 15% of the population suffers from serious drug addiction problems.

“It's a public health problem that they must address with values,” he said.
