Head of State exalts record for maíz production in Guárico: More than 170,000 hectares planted!

This Thursday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, highlighted the commitment and dedication of farmers in the country, which continues to increase the number of hectares planted for the various food sectors with a view to food self-sufficiency based on agroecology.
From the Self-Government Room of the Productive Commune “The Legacy of Chávez”, in the in Guayabo, in the Guaicaipura municipality, in the state of Miranda, where he led a Thursday Day of Communal Productive Power, the National President congratulated the peasants and peasants of the Guárico state that this planting cycle exceeded 170,000 hectares of rice.
In this regard, the Minister for Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, stressed that in addition to the number of hectares of planting that exceed the initial plan, which contemplated 97,000, an increase in production yield per hectare has been achieved, reaching 5,000 kilos.
He also highlighted that the number of 347,489 hectares of white and yellow rice was reached throughout the country with an optimal yield per hectare of planting.
