The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that peace will triumph in Latin America and the Caribbean, international law and our Peoples will fight to guarantee its application, “we are fighting for peace and the sovereignty of Venezuela and our law.”

“We have the legal, legal, national and international reason, we have the moral, spiritual reason for the historical strength of our Liberator and politics. It's our homeland and our project,” he said.

The head of state said that action and force must be added to reason every day, “that is why I believe that the conclusions of this Meeting of Jurists in Defense of International Law must be immediately put into practice”.

In this regard, he urged the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), together with the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, to establish “a plan of action as a Venezuelan State together with world jurists and all their associations to proceed with all international demands and actions in defense of the right to peace in Venezuela, Colombia and South America.”

This was stated at the closing ceremony of the Meeting of Jurists in Defense of International Law, in which he stated that “we cannot allow a new Nazi-Fascist current to prevail on our continent today. You have to knock on doors for awareness to open up.”

He also said that “I am addressing, in particular, the people of the United States, to stop the mad hand of those who intend to wage an armed war against the Caribbean.”

“Today, the Charter of the United Nations and the instances that have emerged from it are battered, neutralized and non-existent. We are at a time when the people themselves must fight for their freedom and for their dignity above anything,” he stressed.
