The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his aspiration that the opposition leaders elected in the next elections will opt for national unity.

In that regard, he noted that he expects elected opposition leaders to propose constructive alternatives, instead of aligning themselves with foreign interests, recognizing the strength of the Bolivarian project.

“I hope that all the deputies, political parties, the governor and the mayors who could win in the next opposition elections, take the path of reunification and of presenting reliable alternatives, in the face of the solid and historic project of the Bolivarian Revolution. Let's hope that a nationalist opposition will emerge and not that it responds to imperialist interests
,” he said.
