The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro, urged the new Lieutenants and Lieutenants in Corvette this Monday to build a modern military institution.
“Boys, girls, Lieutenants, Corvette Lieutenants , the road begins. The road is long. To study, to prepare. Venezuela needs you to build the modern Bolivarian National Armed Forces of the 21st century from the ground up. We need to manage and maintain the weapons systems we have and we need to create, acquire and assimilate the world's new weapons systems,” said the Head of State.
During the act of Joint Promotion of FANB officers in the Command, Technical and Troop categories, as well as the transfer to the Active Reserve of the 1992 promotions, the president stressed that “the military arts and sciences must be in the capacity of Venezuela with its University (Bolivarian Military)”.
He stressed that “we must combine the investigative and creative process of the new and modern Venezuelan military industry, which is a military industry to generate our weapons systems, our logistics for the defense of peace. Not to attack anyone in the world. We are not considering building a military industry to fuel massacres or kill peoples of the world.”
In this regard, the Dignitary pointed out that the construction of a powerful military industry must guarantee “our weapons system (...) the maintenance of the system we have and modernize and be at the forefront of the modern systems that are already on the horizon”.
