This Monday, the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) on the pedagogical impact of social networks on children and young people.
“The main responsibility we have is to defend and care for children, new technologies and social networks have become a great risk, and every day we are increasingly aware of the damage that networks pose to the values of respect and solidarity,” said Rodríguez.
He also stressed that each country regulates these exposures to social networks “because they have an impact on development, values of youth”.
“In recent months, we saw the challenges of TikTok as they damaged the lives of young people, we salute this historic decision of the Supreme Court and invite it not to stay here, we invite parents and families to get involved and join us in protecting children and young people,” said the minister.
In this regard, he urged “not to leave our children alone in front of the screens, it is everyone's responsibility, that this first step serves to bring the community and society together around this issue”.
