The Gran Cacique Maiquetía Hotel was officially certified as five stars, a recognition that positions it as one of the most modern and complete tourist infrastructures in Venezuela and the Caribbean.

The event, held this Thursday, October 2, was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, together with the governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán.

Minister Gómez stressed that this certification constitutes “a decisive boost to motor tourism”, aligned with the strategic vision of the Bolivarian Government and the seven transformations proposed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

“This hotel is the first letter of introduction to our inbound tourism. It will generate fresh currency and will energize crafts, transport and open up sources of decent employment for our youth,” he said.

He stressed that the Grand Chief Maiquetía represents not only a luxury attraction with restaurants, spa, gym with ocean view, swimming pool and business center, but also “a reaffirmation of cultural, technological and Venezuelan sovereignty.”

In that regard, he affirmed that the installation will be key to positioning Venezuela as a “multidiverse destination: of coast, mountains, plains, jungle and, above all, of human warmth.”

For his part, Governor José Alejandro Terán highlighted the social impact of the work, which already guarantees direct employment to more than 400 workers, of whom 80% are Guaireños, in addition to 1,200 indirect jobs.

“This hotel is a true jewel that combines comfort, original craftsmanship and a strategic connection to Simon Bolivar International Airport. It is a pride that reaffirms our resilience and our will to win as a nation,” he said.

Terán also reported that alliances are being established with universities in the region, such as the Simon Bolivar University, to integrate tourism and hospitality students into internships and professional services within the hotel.

The Gran Cacique Maiquetía Hotel, recently inaugurated by President Maduro, is thus consolidating itself as an emblematic work that, according to the authorities, energizes the local economy and projects La Guaira and Venezuela towards international tourism markets.
