In the state of Apure, more than five thousand popular assemblies are held in the seven municipalities of the entity, as part of the process of forming the Bolivarian Integral Base Committees, promoted by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
During the activity, residents of several communities expressed their support for the initiative. Eglis Peña highlighted the active participation of older people, pregnant women and young people: “It was an assembly with mysticism and joy, where the community is organized to strengthen the homeland,” he said.
María Cedeño, spokesperson for young people, valued the call of the PSUV as an opportunity to consolidate structures from the ground up: “Young people have been participating freely since they were 15 years old. We thank President Nicolás Maduro for strengthening the party's bases,” he said.
Felipe Gómez invited all communities to participate in the next meetings scheduled for November 15 and 16: “These committees make it possible to strengthen territorial work and continue to build organizations from the ground up,” he said.
The initiative in Apure is part of a national day aimed at consolidating popular power and stimulating community participation within the framework of strengthening the structures of the PSUV.
