At the Tiuna El Fuerte Cultural Center located in the El Valle parish of Caracas, artists, family and friends of some of the Venezuelan migrants kidnapped in El Salvador met for a prayer meeting.
Among these detainees is Arturo Suárez, who is a resident of this parish and who came to the United States to record a video clip and is now behind bars at the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism (Cecot) in El Salvador.
“Lord, today I ask you that you can bring peace and comfort hearts, bring freedom not only to Wilber Flores and Arturo Suarez, but to every person who is deprived of liberty, to every innocent man. Today we raise our hands and ask you sir, we humble ourselves to ask you for salvation and freedom in the name of Jesus and that you open the doors and give freedom,” said the pastor of the Aliento de Vida church, William Piñeres, during the prayer chain where the community also joined.
The prayer expressed with the sentiment of those who understand the family's pain, was led by the one who stressed that the human rights of young migrants cannot be violated “they must make a real judgment, without bias, always respecting others, as the Lord says”.
With tears in her eyes, Arturo Suarez's sister, Paola Paiva, said that her brother “is the victim of one of the worst situations, being unjustly imprisoned without having committed any type of crime and without having done anything that they allegedly say on social networks that he could have done.”
